October 05, 2022

It’s officially spooky season and if there’s one thing that screams out “halloween is around the corner!” it’s the heaps of pumpkins we are seeing everywhere!

From Jack O Lanterns to a delicious side on Thanksgiving, pumpkins are a hit this time of year and we want to get in on the action!

We think you know where we are going with this… pumpkin face masks for all!

Think twice before throwing out the innards of your pumpkin when carving up those creepy Jack O lanterns! Not only are the seeds a delicious and nutritious snack, but pumpkin has some serious skin perks and your skin deserves the love!

Why your skin loves pumpkin

Pumpkin is rich in vitamins A and C to brighten the complexion and keep your skin cells healthy.

They are an excellent source of alpha hydroxy acids and fruit enzymes to aid in cell turnover for more youthful skin. Pumpkin helps to remove dead skin cells, soften and smooth lines, and promote a radiant glow.

Do we have you hooked yet?

Let’s dig into the masks!

Sweet Pumpkin Face Mask

Honey adds additional hydrating and brightening properties, while sugar adds a gentle exfoliation along with the exfoliating effects of pumpkin.

What do you need to get started?

  • 2 tbsp fresh pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (raw)

How do you make it?

After cleansing your face and rinsing with warm water, combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and apply a generous layer to your face. Leave the mask to work its magic for 15-20 minutes then rinse off with warm water, following with cool water to close pores and then apply your oil of choice.

Let’s add some spice

There’s nothing quite like the scent of certain spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and clove to really get you in the Fall Spirit.

This pumpkin recipe includes cinnamon to help boost circulation, fight inflammation and promote collagen along with yogurt! Yogurt is rich in lactic acid to further enhance the natural exfoliating effects of pumpkin while leaving your skin baby soft.
