4 Skincare Mistakes to Avoid

4 Skincare Mistakes to Avoid

June 15, 2022

Taking care of your skin should feel easy and effortless, and when you are using the right products, infused with ingredients that feed your skin with real love and nourishment, you are already well on your way.

Of course, there are still some rules you need to abide by to ensure you are treating your skin right, and this article will make those rules super easy to follow!

By the time you get to the end, you will learn exactly what mistakes to avoid for happy, healthy skin!

Let’s dive in.

Using soap or facial wipes to cleanse your skin

Ugh, this makes us cringe, we have to be honest.

Traditional soap bars are incredibly drying, as they strip the skin’s natural oils, impairing your skin barrier and putting you at risk for a heap of unfortunate skincare woes.

Facial wipes simply do not clean the way a good cleanser can and while they may be okay once in a blue moon, using them nightly can negatively impact your skin as they all contain alcohol.

Our Aloe Vera Cleanser is gentle yet works deep to clean out dirt and impurities with an array of beautiful and powerful ingredients and soothing oils that will never strip your skin.

Being afraid of facial oil

We understand that you may shy away from oil if you have oily skin, but that old myth “oil creates more oil” is just that, a big myth!

If you have oily skin and use the right oils, we’re talking sea buckthorn, prickly pear and jojoba to name a few, you will start to notice drastic improvements, more than any of those acne creams have ever done.

We have a facial oil for every skin type and you just need to try it once for yourself to become an oil convert!

Using hot water on your skin

Hot water is a no no for your skin, whether it’s your face or your body! Nothing strips natural oils faster than scalding water temps and trust us, it takes ages to get your skin back to a healthy state once it’s been stripped.

Always use lukewarm water on your skin and finish with a blast of cold water to tighten and close your pores.

Not washing your pillowcases

Oils from your skin and dead skin cells can accumulate on your pillow, contributing to clogged pores by exposing your skin to bacteria

Make it a habit to wash your pillowcases at least once a week and opt for a non-toxic, all natural and gentle detergent to avoid skin irritation.

You could throw in ¼ cup baking soda as a natural antibacterial solution, not to mention it will make your whites extra bright!

Once you stop making these common mistakes, your skin will thank you and glow with health. Be sure to share with your friends and family, we could all do with brighter, happier skin!
