Tips to Manage Frizzy Hair and Flyaways

Tips to Manage Frizzy Hair and Flyaways

February 26, 2024

Frizzy hair is just not it, but the reality is that many of us deal with frizzy hair and flyaways on the daily.

You may have found yourself admiring the sleek locks of the girl or guy who pops up on your social feed, or perhaps you were behind them in line at the grocery store.

You think to yourself that some people are just blessed with tamed tresses and your hair has always been wild and unruly.

However, silky, smooth hair is actually quite easy to achieve with the right tips and tricks!

Don’t believe us?

Put the tips from this article into practice and then see for yourself!

Prep your hair

Healthy hair starts at the scalp so treating your scalp with a little extra love is essential for happy strands!

Before you get into the shower and follow your usual shampoo and condition routine, we want to encourage you to massage some rosemary oil into your scalp and leave it in for an hour or two (or overnight!) before getting into the shower to shampoo and condition as usual.

Rosemary oil will eliminate dirt and oil buildup on the scalp that can clog pores leading to dandruff, itchiness and hair that never seems to grow.

Many of us deal with flakes, but turn to drugstore or prescription dandruff products, not realizing how drying these products are until we catch a glimpse of ourself in the mirror!

Wash your hair the right way

We also want to encourage you to opt for a shampoo and conditioner free from sulfates and other chemical ingredients, as these all strip natural oils from the hair.

When you shampoo, really put the focus on scrubbing your scalp rather than all your hair as this can encourage frizz. Let the shampoo from your scalp simply run through the rest of your hair when rinsing. Also be sure to use lukewarm water, as hot water strips natural hair oils too.

For extra dry hair, you may want to apply conditioner to towel-dried hair and leave for a few minutes before rinsing with cooler water and, if you’re brave, ending with an ice cold rinse! This closes your hair follicles and leaves your hair with serious silkiness and shine!

Be gentle when drying

If you have washed your hair correctly then proceed to vigorously rub it dry then you are going to undo all the good you have just done and encourage static and frizz.

You want to wrap your head in a towel, and just let it absorb the excess water. You can use your towel to pat dry different sections of your hair, but don’t rub!

Microfiber towels seem to be a hit with many people too so may be something to look into for your hair care ritual, as they are known to help with frizz!

Use a conditioning spray

When your hair is damp, but no longer dripping, you want to apply a product that can nourish and leave it hydrated, but I am sure you’d also love something that can help to encourage hair growth, yes?

Our Rice water is your new holy grail hair product, trust us!

End with oil

There is nothing better than a hair oil to leave your hair shiny and silky and feeling truly luxurious!

Batana has to be one of our favorites!

  • Can help to repair damaged hair from within the follicle
  • Thickens hair by promoting new hair growth
  • Hello shiny, bouncy locks!
  • May help to prevent gray hairs with regular use

We won’t say too much more, but we will say that we are working on a new product for you and we are sure this gives you a big hint!

You can also use a little of any of our facial oils on your mid-lengths to ends to instantly seal splits, smooth and add lustrous shine!

A few small changes can go a long way and be the difference between dry and frizzy hair versus sleek, nourished and manageable hair!
